Mark Ellis (Trustee)
Mark Ellis is the Executive Director of the International Bar Association (IBA), the principal organisation of bar associations, law firms and individual lawyers internationally. He is also a board member of the Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative (CEELI), which provides pro bono legal assistance to 28 countries in Central Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Mark has a long history of involvement in justice initiatives worldwide. He served as Legal Advisor to the Independent International Commission on Kosovo, as consultant to the World Bank on Central and Eastern Europe investment policies, advised the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe on the creation of Serbia’s War Crimes Tribunal and was actively involved with the Iraqi High Tribunal. He is presently a member of both the Council of Foreign Relations and the Advisory Panel to the Defense Counsel for the ICTY.
